The Ladybug Run is a 5k walk/run, 10k run/relay and a Diaper Dash this July 23rd at Cook Park in Tigard (17005 SE 92nd Ave). It is 100% volunteer and sponsor supported and an all ages and abilities event. There will be a love band and after party following the race and all registraints will receive the chip-timed race, t-shirt, medal, Alenrose chocolate milk, waffles, bacon and beer and cider! Thanks to the Oregon Department of Education’s partnership with the Oregon Lottery, the Oregon Teacher of the Year receives a gift award of $5,000 as well as a special fund to cover all travel costs for the year. In addition, a matching monetary gift ($5,000) goes to the Teacher of the Year’s school. The winner also receives a technology package award from SMART Technologies as well as other gifts and recognition from the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), founder of the National Teacher of the Year Program. Finally, the first and second runners up receive a $2,000 cash award as a part of the Oregon Department of Education’s partnership with the Oregon Lottery.

The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Get involved and you'll be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers!
Landmark Ford Lincoln, in conjunction with the Ford Focus on Hunger, is joining other Ford dealers throughout the Northwest, to collect jars of peanut butter supporting the summer demand for kid-friendly foods at St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry. The peanut butter drive will run until May 21st and you can give online at www.fordfeedskids.org by clicking on the food bank of their choice to make a cash donation. To make a donation, please bring jars of peanut butter to the Service Department at Landmark Ford Lincoln (12000 SW 66th Ave in Tigard) between the hours of 7am-midnight Monday thru Friday or from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. A collection bin will also be available in the Landmark Ford Lincoln showroom.
Dozer Day is the ultimate construction experience: putting kids in the driver’s seat to operate Dump Trucks, Dozers, Excavators all while educating about building sustainable communities, industry opportunities and public safety. There is something for everyone with music, food, giveaways, digging for treasures (in-cluding real gemstones), pipe and tire crawls, garbage trucks, fire trucks, an ambulance and MUCH more! For 2016 it will be Satur-day, May 21st, and Sunday, May 22nd opening to the public from 11am till 4pm both days at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Ridgefield Washington! An Evening with Henry Winkler, at Park Academy will include a dinner and oral auction; Mr. Winkler will share his personal experience with dyslexia and how he overcame his struggles to be an award winning actor, director, producer and author. Funds from the event will support the educational environment through its scholarship program and will help students who struggle with dyslexia and other attention learning issues to thrive.
