Authors James Moore and Judi James of "The You Code: What Your Habits Say About You" claim that coffee choices go beyond taste. They say certain drinks appeal to certain personality types. I'm not convinced, but here's what they say:
• Espresso: You like nstant gratification, a quick hit. You are also cynical & sarcastic, even an aggressive cool hunter. You are moody and set high standards, aiming for the leadership position with little time for gossip.
• Black coffee: You are a no-frills minimalist. You prefer one-on-one contact. You are competitive, not to mention quiet and moody, although capable of occasional bouts of extroversion.
• Latte: You prefer safety and want to be liked. You are cutesy but conceivably stubborn inside. You avoid direct confrontation and delegates the dirty work. Latte lovers are also loyal family people. You enjoy comfortable surroundings and gabbing with trusted friends. Sex is more snuggly than extreme.
• Cappuccino: You are optimistic and an extrovert who appreciates style and nice stuff! You prefer to start things rather than see them through with all that dull detail work.
• Instant coffee: No frills, straightforward, cheery but in no hurry to get things done, which might come across as shallow. Highs and lows come easily; not so adventurous in career or sex, but ponders both.
• Decaf soymilk: More of an eco-worrier rather than an eco-warrior. For those who aren't allergic to cow's milk, the choice may indicate fussiness with a touch of sincere narcissism.
• Starbucks Frappuccino (and presumably other frothy whips): It's all about the foam and the froth. Trendchaser more than a trendsetter and, ouch, characterized as "flighty"
• Non-coffee drinker: The authors say someone who rejects the black brew is "frightened of life" and "a child". OUCH!
Can you imagine getting a text from your significant other that said "I haven't been honest with you"......and then nothing else, no matter how many return texts you send? Ugh! I'd be furious.....which is why I'm giving you a heads up on a new prank that's going around. Check out the one at the bottom of the page. Now THAT'S the way you handle this one. ;-)
This is one of the most downloaded songs in the country right now. It was written by 17 year old , Zach Sobiech, who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer that takes the lives of a large percent of its childhood victims. Given only months to live, Zach turned to music to say goodbye. Zach died a couple of weeks ago. This song, "Clouds" is his goodbye. Touched by his story and hoping to raise awareness and support to fight this cancer, these celebrities all joined together for this video tribute:
Erin Evenson of Brooklyn, NY just won $100,000 for this original burger recipe. It looks like a little too much work for me (haha! I'm a lazy chef)....but if you try this recipe, you MUST tell me how it is! Recipe below:
7 Train Caramelized Green Curry Burgers with Crispy Watercress Salad, Roasted Cashews, and Minted Basil Aioli
Recipe by Erin Evenson
Makes 6 burgers
GREEN CURRY GLAZE
1 cup coarsely chopped fresh cilantro
3 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
2 jalapeño chiles, stemmed and coarsely chopped
2 fresh kaffir lime leaves
1 stalk lemongrass, outer layers discarded, bruised with the back of a chef’s knife and chopped
1/3 cup coconut milk
1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons Asian toasted sesame oil
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
â¨â¨MINTED BASIL AIOLI
1 cup homemade or good-quality mayonnaise
3 cloves garlic
1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
6 slices pancetta
â¨CRISPY WATERCRESS SALADâ¨
3 1/2 cups canola oil
1 cup rice flour
1 cup chilled seltzer water
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 heads (bunches) young watercress, stem ends trimmed
3 shallots, thinly sliced
Zest and juice of 1 lime
1 tablespoon unseasoned rice vinegar
2 teaspoons low-sodium Thai fish sauce
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon Sriracha hot chile sauce
2 pounds ground chuck
Fat from cooking pancetta (above)
â¨Vegetable oil, for brushing on the grill rack
6 French sandwich rolls, split
1 1/4 cups chopped roasted salted cashews
Heat a gas grill to medium-high.
To make the glaze, combine all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until completely pureed. Pass the mixture once through a sieve to remove any errant chunks, cover, and set aside.
To make the aioli, combine all of the ingredients in a food processor and process to a smooth paste. Transfer to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate until assembling the burgers.
Place a large, high-sided, cast-iron skillet on the grill rack. Add the pancetta and cook until crisp, 7 to 8 minutes. Transfer to paper towels to drain and pour the fat from the skillet into a large bowl; reserve.
To make the salad, return the skillet to the grill, add the canola oil, and heat until shimmering, about 325 degrees F. Combine the flour, seltzer water, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a large bowl and whisk to blend well. Add the watercress and stir to coat.
Add the shallots to the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crisp, 30 to 45 seconds. Transfer to paper towels to drain. Working in small batches, remove the watercress from the batter, allowing excess batter to drip back into the bowl, and fry until golden brown and crisp, 45 to 50 seconds. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
In a small bowl, whisk together the lime zest and juice, vinegar, fish sauce, sugar, and hot sauce until combined. Set aside.
To make the patties, add the chuck to the bowl containing the reserved pancetta fat and combine using your hands. Form the meat into 6 equal patties that are slightly larger in circumference than the buns.
Brush the grill rack with vegetable oil. Place the patties on the rack and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, or until juices begin emerging from the top of the patties. Baste the patties liberally with the glaze, turn, and douse the other side with the remaining glaze. Grill for 4 to 5 minutes longer (for medium-rare) or until desired doneness. Transfer the patties to a plate to rest until assembling the burgers.
Grill the rolls, cut side down, until they are toasted lightly. Place the cashews on a plate. Spread the cut sides of the rolls with the aioli and dip each roll top, aioli side down, into the cashews, pressing gently to make sure that the nuts adhere.
To assemble the burgers, combine the fried shallots and watercress in a large bowl and toss to combine. Drizzle the lime dressing over the mixture and toss again. Place a pancetta slice on each bottom bun, followed by a patty. Place a mound of the watercress salad atop each patty. Finally, add the cashew-crusted bun tops. Serve immediately.
Kazuki Yamamoto is a barista in Osaka, Japan who does the most INCREDIBLE things with foam. Wow, I wouldn't know what to tip him for one of these creations.....in fact, I probably wouldn't even want to drink it and ruin it! LOL! Check out more of his work here.
Travis Meiers teaches third grade in California and he invited his class to write the vows for his ceremony. He and his fiance were (pleasantly) surprised by how awesome they turned out! Here's a little bit of what the kids came up with. It sounds like Ms Racheal is getting the better end of the deal. Haha!
"Mr. Meiers promises to give Ms. Racheal 8 billion kisses every day."
"Ms. Racheal promises to travel all around the world with Mr. Meiers in a giant car that he bought for her."
"Mr. Meiers promises to buy Ms. Racheal a Lamborghini, and let her keep the change."
"Ms. Racheal promises never to change because Mr. Meiers likes her just the way she is."
"Mr. Meiers promises to always sit by Ms. Racheal on roller coasters."
"Mr. Meiers promises to buy Ms. Racheal a Komodo dragon."
"Mr. Meiers promises to be more like Johnny Depp."
According to a recent article, the real reason some people are "unlucky in love" is NOT because they aren't doing the right things on a date......they are simply picking the WRONG people to focus their romantic attention on.
How do you fix this problem? One expert says you have to give your subconscious "Love Picker" a tuneup. Here's how:
1. Break bad patterns. Look for common themes in your relationships and figure out where the patterns have their roots. Try to identify the underlying fear you likely have of actually getting close to someone. Face the fear so you can break the bad pattern.
2. Pay attention to your dreams. Your dreams are a treasury of insight and information to guide you on your journey to a fulfilling relationship. They speak to you in symbolic language so you need to journal about them and follow your inner guidance.
3. Create an inner dialogue. Work with your subconscious mind by visualizing and facing the part of you that acts as the picker. Ask yourself questions and trust the answers that come to you.
4. Get a guide. Hire a coach that specializes in subconscious work. This is the fastest way to get yourself aligned with love.

You know how guys are the BIGGEST babies when they get a cold? Yeah.....so, I don't know how these guys thought they could handle CHILDBIRTH.....but, watching them experience simulated childbirth is both satisfying and hilarious at the same time. What do you want to bet their Moms got extra-nice Mother's Day gifts this year? ;-)
Seriously guys......it goes on just like this......for hours.....and women do it every day. ;-)
Angelina Jolie is a very private person. She is also young and healthy, which is why it was shocking to read her announcement in the NY Times that she has had a double mastectomy to reduce her chances of getting breast cancer. You can read the whole thing here. She says she hopes her story will inspire other women fighting the life-threatening disease.
After her mother died, of cancer, at 56....Angelina underwent testing to see if she also carried the gene that is linked to a higher risk of cancer. She found out that she also
carries the 'faulty' gene." She says her doctors had estimated she had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer.
"Once I knew this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much as I could. I made a decision to have a preventive double mastectomy," she said.
"I choose not to keep my story private because there are many women who do not know that they might be living under the shadow of cancer. It is my hope that they, too, will be able to get gene tested."
Breast cancer alone kills about 458,000 people each year, according to the World Health Organization. It is estimated that one in 300 to one in 500 women carry a BRCA 1 or BRCA 2 gene mutation, as Jolie does. If you have a history of breast or ovarian cancer in your family, please talk to your doctor about testing. Knowledge is power and knowledge gives you options!
Thank you for using your celebrity spotlight to raise awareness and save lives, Angelina. We wish you and your family all the best as you heal.
An American Airlines flight from L.A. to N.Y.C. had to make an emergency landing last week, so this woman could be taken off the plane. Seems she wouldn't stop singing....the SAME Whitney Houston song.....over and over......for hours. LOL! Of course, I'm laughing because I wasn't on the plane with her. What else do you wish people could get kicked off for?
Experts say the HOT trend in baby names is......old-fashioned, classic names like Emma, Myrtle, and Vivianne. Here's the list of the most popular baby names of the 1890's. I'll bet you'll see more than a few of your friends' babies on here:
I'm not the biggest fan of celebrities becoming politicians and running our country, but apparently many Americans have no problem with it at all. In fact, if they had their choice, we'd be saying President Timberlake someday. According to MTV, Americans were asked which celebrity they would most like to see become president of the United States, the top answer was Justin Timberlake, with 34 percent of the vote. Behind Timberlake in the poll, although not close behind, are Adele and Beyoncé, receiving 19 and 14 percent of the vote, respectively. Taylor Swift also received a favorable rating.
Only one artist was unanimously disliked by people of all three parties: Justin Bieber. According to MTV, 54 percent of Democrats, 56 percent of Republicans and 56 percent of Independents disliked the singer. However, he wasn't the only singer who was seen unfavorably. Chris Brown, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z and Rihanna were also disliked.
What celeb would you like to see as President someday?

I can't believe this is a real thing.....but, in a "Today" Show Moms survey of 7,000 U.S. mothers, 42 percent said that they sometimes suffer from Pinterest stress – the worry that they’re not crafty or creative enough..... And striving for perfection is a major source of stress for moms: One in four mothers told TODAY that the pressure they put on themselves to be perfect is a top cause of stress. The result? Mom's average stress level is 8.5 out of 10, the survey says. Experts say the fix is to spend less time on Pinterest, but I have a better cure. Just spend some time looking at all of the real-life Pinterest fails here: http://www.pinterestfail.com/
See! I'll bet you feel better already. You're welcome!
Ok guys....you've probably been to enough sporting events to know there is a Kiss Cam. There is ALWAYS a Kiss Cam....and if you take a date, you have to be ready to kiss her when it catches you. That's the deal when you take a date and not some buddies to the game. Right? Clearly, this guy did not get that memo......and you've GOT to see what his girlfriend did when he brushed her off during a visit from the Kiss Cam. Hilarious! He totally deserved that.
Have you ever wondered why you can't find any pants bigger than a size 10 at Abercrombie & Fitch? It's probably because this man, Mike Jeffries, doesn't want girls bigger than a size 10 to wear them. He is A&F's big boss and he told Salon magazine: “It’s (image is) almost everything. That’s why we hire good-looking people in our stores. Because good-looking people attract other good-looking people, and we want to market to cool, good-looking people. We don’t market to anyone other than that,”
Jeffries also told Salon that he wasn’t bothered by excluding larger people. He said, “In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids. Candidly, we go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don’t belong [in our clothes], and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely. Those companies that are in trouble are trying to target everybody: young, old, fat, skinny. But then you become totally vanilla. You don’t alienate anybody, but you don’t excite anybody, either."
Wow. He not only admits it.....he's proud of it. BTW.....he has said in other places that he only wants people aged 18-22 to wear A&F clothes. He is 68. Is he a HUGE hypocrite or just being honest? Share your thoughts in the comments!
Incredible news story out of Cleveland yesterday. Three women who were missing for TEN YEARS......were found and rescued by this man. He lives next door to the kidnapper and as he says in this interview, he never saw any sign or clue that something was wrong. He tells the story in this interview......it's like something out of a movie. He kicked in a door to rescue them and everything!
Everyone has a friend on Instagram or Facebppk or Twitter that is CONSTANTLY sharing pics of their food. Sure those pics can be annoying when you're hungry.....or eating PB&J AGAIN.....but....are they a sign of a bigger problem? Dr. Valerie Taylor, associate professor at the University of Toronto and psychiatrist-in-chief at Women’s College Hospital in Toronto, says it is a sign that the person is over preoccupied with their food.....and that is one fo the signs of an eating disorder. You can read more here.
Have you seen this yet? I have to say.....she doesn't seem THAT drunk, just mad.....really, REALLY mad. Note to self......NEVER pull attitude and argue with the cop who pulled you over. There's just no way to win that one....no matter who you are. ;-)
I'm not sure how much I believe this, but a fitness company surveyed their members and found out that certain signs work out more than others. Here's how they rank. I'm not sure how much I believe this, but I DO have to say, as a Libra, I absolutely work out more than my Pisces hubby....however, Adam Levine (pictured) is also a Pisces and he looks pretty fit to me.....so there's that. Where do you land on this? Is it accurate?
.....and so will these other 9 foods. Looks like no more "wine wednesdays" for me. ;-(
There are several reasons why a sugar-filled diet makes you look older. When there is excess sugar in the body, it attaches itself to collagen, making the skin look stiff and inflexible.
Salt dehydrates the body. When you are dehydrated, you become fatigued, which makes you look tired and worn out.
Coffee and caffeinated products also dehydrate the body, making you look tired and worn out.
The sugar in candy causes inflammation in the body and can make skin look wrinkled and old.
Artificial sweeteners such as aspartame are associated with headaches and joint pain and can make you crave sweets.
Consuming too much alcohol dehydrates your body and causes wrinkles, loss of collagen, redness and puffiness. Alcohol also messes with your metabolism, making it more likely that you will pack on the pounds.
Energy drinks damage the enamel in your teeth eight times more than soda does. This erosion makes your teeth look yellow and unhealthy.....and old!
Eat too many carbs and it can damage the collagen and fibers in your skin, leading to wrinkles and sagginess
Fried food contributes to collagen break down in the skin, making your skin look wrinkled and worn out.
As a beverage high in sugar, soda tends to dehydrate the body. This fatigues the body and makes you look tired. there's also a LOT of salt in sodas, which also dehydraytes your skin.
