This is the Olinguito and just look at how cute it is! It is pretty rare for scientists to discover a new species and apparently one of them were hiding in plain sight with its relative the Olingo. Here is what we know about this animal:
It was originally discovered in the forrests of Ecuador,
It is a classified as a carnivore by the shape of its' teeth,
It enjoys eating insects, plant nectar, and fruits,
The name Oliguito is spanish for "Little Olingo" named after its' relatives,
The average weight is 2 pounds,
And it is the smallest member of the racoon family.
